Liverpool are showing interest in a summer move for promising Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, according to CaughtOffside.
The Premier League winners are reportedly monitoring the highly-rated 20-year-old’s situation in Spain closely, as he is attracting a great deal of interest amid his impressive La Liga campaign.
Mosquera shone for Valencia this season and was a cornerstone of their back four for a second consecutive year, making 37 appearances and scoring once.
The Spain U21 international, who made his first-team debut in January 2022, is under contract for just another 13 months, until June 2026.
Liverpool Eyeing Cristhian Mosquera
Among Premier League clubs keen on the 20-year-old
According to CaughtOffside, Mosquera has no shortage of suitors in England and Europe at present, with RB Leipzig, Chelsea, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and West Ham all monitoring the 20-year-old.
Liverpool are also believed to be ‘big admirers’ of the Alicante-born defender, whose asking price is reported to be in the region of €30m (£25m).
Mosquera, praised as ‘one of the best 1v1 defenders in La Liga’, is said to be keen on a summer departure but would be more inclined to join Leipzig’s project instead of pursuing a move to a top English club already.
Liverpool are believed to be eyeing a new centre-back this summer, as Jarell Quansah is likely to leave while Ibrahima Konate has just a year left on his contract.
The Reds are one of the most active Premier League clubs in the market at the moment, as they are pushing to sign both Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez.
Arne Slot’s side announced their first signing last weekend, welcoming Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong on a five-year deal.
