Banker bets are the games we feel most confident about today, usually a clear favourite at short odds or a low-risk goals market. No bet is ever certain, so keep your stake small, and come back after the games to see how each tip finished.

What is a banker bet?

A banker is the pick you trust most on a given day. People often put it at the heart of a slip and build around it. Our banker can come from any market: a home win, double chance, over 1.5 goals or something else, as long as it’s the one we rate highest.

How we choose the banker

  • A clear favourite or a very likely outcome, backed by recent form.
  • Confirmed or expected line-ups with no major absences.
  • No obvious reason for the favourite to ease off, such as a bigger game a few days later.
  • Odds that are short but still worth taking.

A banker can still lose

“Banker” means our most confident pick, not a guaranteed one. Over time some will lose, and you’ll see those results here too. Keep your stake sensible, even on the banker. For one pick to play on its own, see the single bet; for straight wins, our top win picks.

Questions

The things people ask us most.

What does banker mean in betting?

A banker is the selection you’re most confident about, often used as the base of a slip.

Is the banker guaranteed to win?

No. It’s our most confident pick, but any football match can go wrong.

Which market is the banker from?

Any market. It depends on where we see the strongest pick that day.

Should I put the banker in an accumulator?

You can, but remember every other leg must win too. Many people play the banker as a single.
