Hoodtrends Predict publishes football and basketball predictions. We do not take bets, but we know many of our readers do, so we want to be clear about how to keep betting safe and fun.
Our commitment
- 18+ only. Our predictions, including VIP, are for adults aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please do not bet.
- Predictions are opinions, not guarantees. Every tip is our best judgement based on form, statistics and team news, but football is unpredictable. Favourites lose, late goals happen, and no tip is ever certain.
- We show our results. Winning and losing tips are both recorded on the site, so you can judge our record for yourself.
How to keep betting under control
- Set a budget before you start, and only bet money you can afford to lose. Treat it as the cost of entertainment, not a way to make money.
- Never chase your losses. Trying to win back what you lost with bigger bets is how small losses become big ones.
- Never borrow to bet, and never use money meant for rent, food, school fees or bills.
- Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
- Don’t bet when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
- Keep a record of what you stake and what you win or lose. Most people are surprised when they add it up.
- Use the limits your betting site offers: deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
Signs that betting may be becoming a problem
- Spending more money or time on betting than you planned to
- Betting to win back losses, or to escape problems
- Borrowing money, selling things or skipping bills to keep betting
- Hiding your betting from family or friends
- Feeling anxious, irritable or low when you are not betting
- Arguments at home about money or betting
If any of these sound familiar, it is a good time to take a break and talk to someone. You are not alone, and help is free.
